Antique Tattoos

NY Festivals - Gold
ADC Switzerland - Bronze

To breathe new life into the stale air of the Zurich Antique Book Fair, we took the art out of the books and put it onto the skin of a new generation.

Casevideo

Background

Once upon a time, Zürich was home to hundreds of unique antique book vendors. Today, only a handful remain. as interest in the hobby continues to dwindle, especially amongst young people.

The process

Idea

We decided to bring a fresh audience into an antiquated hobby by imagining a new way for visitors to interact with very old books. Turning one-of-a-kind designs and rare illustrations into temporary tattoos and permanent ink. Bringing the past to life on a new kind of canvas.

Launched with temporary ink, we turned people into walking reminders of the fair.

OOH’s around the city were created using real ink and synthetic skin.

Finally, we inked old-school
art right at the event.
